SANTA FE SPRINGS, CA – Spectros Instruments, Inc. named Target Specialty Products as the exclusive authorized distributor for the SF-ExplorIR monitor in the western United States. The SF-ExplorIR detects low levels of sulfuryl fluoride, and is used to verify safe re-entry after whole-house and commodity fumigations. Products monitored by the SF-ExplorIR unit include Dow AgroSciences’ Vikane® for structural fumigations and ProFume® for commodity fumigations.

In addition to exclusive distribution rights, Target will provide software upgrades, calibration verification and regular maintenance for the SF-ExplorIR. The new regulatory compliant software, version 1.98, is currently available through Target.

“Spectros selected Target as the exclusive distributor because of the company’s strong market presence on the West Coast,” said Dennis Glennon, Ph.D., Chief Technical Officer for Spectros Instruments, Inc. “Fumigators will enjoy the efficiency, economy and ease of having the monitors serviced and repaired locally.”

The portable monitoring system uses non-dispersive infrared technology (NDIR) to ensure levels of sulfuryl fluoride are at or below permissible levels. The SF-ExlorIR measures the gas within an accuracy range of plus or minus one part per million.

“We are pleased to add the ExplorIR to our line of fumigation equipment, and to offer customers the convenience of upgrading and servicing their units through our California branch offices,” said Target’s Fumigation Business Manager Dean Osborn.

The unit is available exclusively through Target Specialty Products in the western states.
