CUPERTINO, Calif. — Sean McCauley, who by age 32 was leading Pittsburg, Calif.-based Garden Plus Pest Control & Termite, a $6 million-plus company, has written a new book titled “DNA of the Young Entrepreneur.”

McCauley began working for Garden Plus just out of high school. Four years later, after the unexpected death of the company’s founder, McCauley became acting owner. At the age of 32, McCauley had grown the business, branching out into multiple new services and turning Garden Plus into a major industry player. In 2003, McCauley was chosen named one of PCT’s “40 Under 40.”

Garden Plus was sold to HomeTeam Pest Defense (now a part of Orkin) in 2004. Now in his late 30s, McCauley has become successful in business several times over. He has been named the SBA’s Young Entrepreneur of the year, and recognized as the most successful under 40 in San Francisco. His self-awareness and analytical abilities are clearly described so others can follow.

In “DNA of the Young Entrepreneur” McCauley shares with readers the knowledge, attitudes, values, and actions for starting and running a successful small business. McCauley describes the book as “part philosophy, personal experience, and practical advice from an author who went from poverty to wealth.”
