Structural Pest Control Market Research Study Underway

The slumping housing market, another disappointing termite swarm season, changing pest patterns, and the impact of unusual weather are just a few of the topics that will be analyzed in A Strategic Ana

Mendham, N.J. — Specialty Products Consultants has undertaken its eighth syndicated study of the professional pest control market in the United States. The slumping housing market, another disappointing termite swarm season, changing pest patterns, and the impact of unusual weather are just a few of the topics that will be analyzed in A Strategic Analysis of the U. S. Structural Pest Control Market — The 2007 Season.

The United States structural pest control industry generated more than $6.73 billion in service revenue in 2006. According to SPC, the 2006 total reflects a six-year annualized growth rate of 4.3 percent for pest control services. “Given market conditions, it’s highly unlikely that we will see anything approaching these historic revenue growth rates in 2007,” said Gary Curl, president of SPC.

The 2007 Season market study will involve telephone interviews with more than 800 owners or managers of professional pest control operations across the country. The Olson Research Group, working in conjunction with SPC, will conduct the interviews. The report will measure the sales and usage of leading brands of insecticides, rodenticides and termite control products in the professional pest control market. Additionally, end-users will be queried about changes made in their service practices to meet the demands of their customers.
