PORT JEFFERSON and HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. — The kids were the ones swarming, trying to get a look at the bugs Suburban Exterminating Co., Inc. (879 W. Jericho, Smithtown, N.Y.) showcased. These insects included a tarantula and some Madagascar roaches. However, the biggest hit was probably Suburban Exterminating’s office dog – Bradley. The kids loved the little beagle and gathered around to pet him.
At the Port Jefferson Free Library and Hauppauge Public Library, Suburban entomologists gathered to show kids specific insect characteristics and survival techniques. This group of kids was very interactive – asking questions, listening intently, and participating in demonstrations.
Suburban Exterminating Co. has visits planned to other libraries including the Northport Public Library (Aug. 10), and the South Huntington Library (Sept. 21).
