The newest Syngenta product innovation, Demand® G insecticide with Active Release technology™, will be featured at the Syngenta booth. Demand G, the company’s first granular insecticide, was launched to meet the requests from the industry and features the same active ingredient, lambda-cyhalothrin, as the popular Syngenta liquid treatment Demand® CS with iCAP technology™. While learning about Demand G, booth visitors can also explore the other offerings in the Syngenta product portfolio and learn how they can work with Syngenta to partner for the future.
Syngenta believes in the importance of partnering with pest management professionals to build an understanding of their business needs and help them achieve their goals. To help professionals manage their business, visitors to the Syngenta booth will have the opportunity to enter to win a “Give your Business the Works” prize package, valued at $5,000, with everything they need to run an organized business. This promotional drawing is open only to registered attendees at NPMA Pest World and is subject to applicable rules. The winners do not need to be present at the time of the drawing.
In addition to exhibiting, Syngenta also joins the NPMA and Pest Control Technology magazine respectively as a proud sponsor of the Leadership Development Group cocktail reception and the 2006 Crown Leadership Awards. Syngenta is committed to encouraging the growth of industry professionals and takes pride in recognizing superior leadership in the industry.
OTHER SYNGENTA NEWS. Syngenta Professional Pest Management also made the following series of announcements at PestWorld ’06.
Sales Team Changes. Berry Cothern and David Payne have accepted the positions of Syngenta Professional Pest Management (PPM) regional manager, East and West, respectively. They will have accountability for the pest management professional and builder sales organizations in these regions. Previously, Cothern was key account manager and Payne was builder sales representative.
In addition, Jason Venello has assumed the role of key account manager. Venello will work with a special focus on identified key customers and business partners in the PMP area. He previously held the position of Pest Management Professional (PMP) sales representative in Florida.
And, Matt Jones, formerly builder sales representative for Florida, is transitioning to a PMP sales representative role in Florida and is a part of the East district sales team. “Our goal is to ensure our customers receive the highest level of service,” said Ashish Malik, head, Professional Pest Management. “This Professional Products sales group has the people in place to do just that.”
Demand G Granular Research Findings. A recent University of Florida study demonstrated greater distribution of active ingredient from Demand® G than from competitive granules.
When tested on a sand surface against competitive brands, samples of sand taken one inch from the application site of Demand G granules resulted in an average of 45 to 60 percent more effective insect control than samples from treatments with competitor products.
“The Demand G samples consistently demonstrated greater active ingredient distribution on the test surface, which resulted in higher mortality of ants and cockroaches at greater distances away from the granules than competitive brands,” said Dr. Phil Koehler, Endowed Professor of Entomology, University of Florida.
The Active Release technology™ of Demand G results from a unique formulation process that infuses the lambda-cyhalothrin into the cellulose carrier itself, so the ideal amount of insecticide is delivered in a regulated, reliable manner, allowing optimal release of the active ingredient.
“When the active ingredient from granules distributes this evenly, it is almost as if you have the control of a liquid perimeter product,” said Dr. Deanna Branscome, technical representative, Syngenta. “These results support the feedback that we have already received from professionals in the field.”
Syngenta Partners With Barcoding Inc. Pest Management Professionals (PMPs) will now be able to easily capture and manage important information from the field as a result of a new relationship between Syngenta Professional Products and Barcoding Inc., a Baltimore-based technology company that installs and integrates wireless barcode systems utilizing handheld portable computing devices. Barcoding will assume the sales, marketing and support responsibilities for ePM® (Electronic Pest Management) business technology licensed to Syngenta.
“We are confident in the ability of Barcoding Inc., as one of the fastest growing technology companies, to operate and continue to improve ePM, and are excited to have them involved,” says Ashish Malik, head, Professional Pest Management, Syngenta. “The ePM system is another demonstration of our commitment to making sure our customers have the tools and services that best help them run their business effectively.”
The ePM system ensures that data such as inspection history, product usage, and monitoring efforts is always at hand. Its Office Connector applications allow any information captured with ePM to be easily integrated into office processes, freeing up valuable resources that can be redirected to improving customer service and acquiring new business.
“We feel that this relationship with Syngenta is a natural fit for both companies and that it is our customers who will see the most benefits. The industry experience of Syngenta combined with our ability to provide mobile, automated data collection solutions can help any PMP become more organized and better serve their customers,” say Jay Steinmetz, President and CEO, Barcoding Inc. “When PMPs can minimize their operational costs and maximize their service levels, they can pass on additional value to their customers. When that happens, everyone wins.”
Barcoding Inc. will be stationed at booth number 1332 at Pest World 2006 located at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center on Lake Grapevine, TX, October 25-28.
