More than 130 golfers representing the pest control, landscape, golf, nursery and vegetation management industries turned out for the tournament.
The event honored five cancer survivors with close ties to Target Specialty Products. The honorees included Jill Brierley, wife of Casey Brierley, V.P. and Regional Manager, Target Specialty Products; Gary Maxwell, V.P. and Regulatory Affairs Manager, Target Specialty Products; Jeff Jones, Vice President, Admiral Pest Control; Dick Scoville, President, Pest Control Center; and Dave Taylor, Entomologist and Training Director, Antimite Termite and Pest Control. After playing 18 holes, participants enjoyed dinner along with a silent auction and raffle. During the dinner, attendees heard from honorees Dick Scoville and Jeff Jones who shared their personal experience with cancer.
“Thank you to the entire Target team for a memorable event,” said Jane Lastusky, vice president of the American Cancer Society’s Los Angeles Region. “What a pleasure it is for me to be here as you honor these five individuals. Thank you [honorees] for sharing your stories with us today.”
The tournament’s Malcolm Stack Award went to Brian Houtchens, Anthony Cortez, Ryan Brawley and Steve Lackey of Team Too. Named in honor of the late Malcolm Stack, president and founder of Bell Laboratories, Inc., the award goes to the foursome with the low gross.
Target’s Charity Golf Tournament has raised over $290,000 for the American Cancer Society since the tournament began in 2000.
