Team Too Termite & Pest Control is the only company to achieve this certification that operates in multiple states and provides their green services through more than one branch office location.Earning the distinction as a Green Shield Certified Provider, Team Too Termite & Pest Control is now the only pest control company in the nation to hold all three major green certifications. The announcement of the Green Shield Certification came in early July from the IPM Institute of North America, an independent, non-organization. Besides earning that top distinction, Team Too also holds the QualityPro, QualityPro Green, and EcoWise Certifications.
“For 20 of the past 30-plus years our family has been in the pest control industry, we’ve always been way ahead of the pack in responding to environmental issues,” said Bryan Houtchens, Team Too’s vice president and chief operating officer. “We didn’t call it ‘going green,’ we didn’t think we were part of a ‘movement,’ Our family has just always been committed to implementing the concepts of sound environmental services and awareness.”
William Houtchens, president of Team Too, stated: “We are the first and only company in the industry to incorporate all three of these important green technology certifications that prove to our third party oversight agencies — our colleagues — and, most important, our family of customers, that we provide the most sophisticated green procedures and protocols out there. When it comes to respecting the environment, our family has always ‘put our money where our mouth is.’ We have always shown everyone that actions speak louder than words.”
To be Green Shield certified requires that the company use prevention-based approaches that minimize pesticide use and hazards by focusing on correcting the conditions that lead to pest problems. Certified practitioners use non-chemical approaches first and the least amount of low toxicity pesticides only when required to provide acceptable results. The certification verifies a company’s performance using a rigorous, on-site evaluation that examines 63 separate aspects of the pest control services provided.
