BURNSVILLE, Minn. – TEMP-AIR will be performing a live demonstration of its patented insect heat treatment process at the Sixth KSU Heat Treatment Workshop to be held May 13-15, 2009 in Manhattan, Kan.
The workshop entitled, “A Practical Methyl Bromide Alternative for 2009 and Beyond,” will be host to researchers, heat treatment practitioners, and heat treatment service providers in order to share practical information on heat treatment technologies. Participants will gain first hand experience by observing the heat treatment of Kansas State University’s state-of-the-art Hal Ross Flour Mill.
The goal of this workshop, organized by the KSU Department of Grain Science and Industry, is to bring awareness and promote insect heat treatment in food and feed processing facilities as a methyl bromide alternative. The workshop is sponsored by the Propane Education and Research Council (PERC), and in part by the United States Department of Agriculture, Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service through a grant under the Methyl Bromide Transitions Program.
