RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – All season long the Termidor Termite Defense logo has been the backdrop to the Carolina Hurricanes’ bench at their home arena, the RBC Center in Raleigh, N.C., reaching millions of fans who followed the team all the way to Game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals on June 19.
After winning the Stanley Cup that night, beating Edmonton 3-1, the Hurricanes became the latest in a long list of sports teams that won national championships with Termidor’s sponsor support, including the 2006 University of Florida Gators men’s basketball champions, the Ohio State University and Louisiana State University football teams, the Durham Bulls international minor league baseball champions, and the Tampa Bay Lightening, the team that gave Termidor its first taste of a Stanley Cup victory in 2004.
“Sports marketing is a valuable part of BASF’s efforts to increase consumer awareness and demand for Termidor, and the services of our BASF Partners in the industry,” says Karl J. Kisner, senior marketing manager for BASF, which has its North American headquarters in Research Triangle Park, N.C. “When our teams are competing all season long, straight through to the finals, the value of the branding of Termidor through our logo placements and our association with a winning team is almost immeasurable.
“We’re proud of our hometown team for taking the title, and we’re thrilled to know that Termidor’s Midas touch continues to rub off on the organizations with whom we work.”
