Terminix in Honduras Receives ISO 9001 Certification

Terminix's office in San Pedro Sula, Honduras - Servicios de Occidente - recently received their ISO 9001 certification. It took more than 16 months for them to become ISO certified. Some of the of the requirements that a business must have to become ISO certified include:

• A set of procedures that cover all key processes in the business
• Monitoring processes to ensure they are effective
• Keeping adequate records
• Checking output for defects, with appropriate and corrective action where necessary
• Regular review of processes and facilitating continual improvement

Servicios de Occidente is a sub-licensee of the company's master licensee, Jose Quinonez, who is located in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Luis and Irma Bueso started Servicios de Occidente in January, 2000. They offer pest control and termite services to homes, supermarkets, breweries, food manufacturing plants and other industries.

Luis is mainly involved in services, training and quality assurance. His wife, Irma is the general manager and has responsibility for the general administration and finance end of the business. They have five technicians, an office manager and a sales and customer service manager.
