Terminix-Triad partnered with The Barnabas Network to make sure people forced out of Heritage House have clean, safe furniture as they settle into their new homes, triadnc.twcnews.com reports.
The Barnabas Network is the only furniture bank in Greensboro. It has served more than 7,000 people since 2008. Stratford Owens said it serves an average of 100 families a year. When she heard about the bug infested Heritage House, she said she had to do something to raise awareness.
That’s when the furniture bank turned to its neighbor for a helping hand. The termite company contracts local bug sniffing dogs and donated their services.
“Throughout the Triad there has been an increase in bed bugs, but Barnabas wants to make sure, double check everything to make the things are the furniture is clean when it goes out the door,” said president and CEO of Terminix-Triad Burns Blackwell.
