JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — As the star of Brandon Pest Control’s television commercials for nearly 10 years, Brandon, the termite detection dog, is one of the most recognizable mascots in northeast Florida. Now, thanks to an appearance on an upcoming television program airing on PBS, the 4-year-old beagle Brandon II will be gaining national notoriety, as well.

Brandon will be featured in “Animal Attractions,” a series produced exclusively for public television stations that explores the unique relationship between people and animals. As part of the series’ “Pet Tales” segment, cameras follow Brandon on the job sniffing out termites, as well as at home with his handler Rick Perez.

Brandon is northeast Florida and southeast Georgia’s only Certified Termite Detection Dog and one of only 12 dogs in the country to be trained and tested at the University of Florida Department of Entomology.

Animal Attractions is produced by Emmy Award-winning PineRidge Film & Television Company and hosted by Megan Blake and Alex Boylan. The episode featuring Brandon has begun to rollout nationally as the new season starts this fall (check local listings for specific dates and times).

Brandon Pest Control is a provider of pest control, termite control and lawn service in northeast Florida and southeast Georgia.
