The 6th annual City of New Orleans and Louisiana Mosquito Control Association Mosquito Academy will be held April 10-12, 2018. This 3-day event will offer comprehensive and in-depth information on all areas of mosquito biology and control, with an added emphasis placed on methods for surveillance and control of the vectors of Zika virus. Class-room learning is enforced through hands-on mosquito identification and field training. The Academy will be beneficial for experienced professionals as well as newcomers to the field. In order to provide individual attention to each attendee, class size is limited. This Academy will include presentations by mosquito control and public health professionals and university experts.

The 10th annual City of New Orleans and the Greater New Orleans Pest Control Association Termite Academy will be held in New Orleans March 6-8, 2018. This three-day Academy will offer comprehensive and in-depth information regarding termites and wood destroying organisms and is accredited by the Louisiana Structural Pest Control Commission. The Academy will place emphasis on field training and insect identification. In order to provide hands-on training, the class size is limited to 30 registrants. The Academy will include presen-tations by industry leaders and university experts. The Academy will apply towards LDAF technician and licensee recertification.
