INDIANAPOLIS — Three pest management professionals received free registrations from Dow AgroSciences to National Pest Management Association’s (NPMA’s) Academy 2009, scheduled for July 23-25 at the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass in Chandler, Ariz., just outside of Phoenix.

Winners Mike Bernskoetter, Art’s Pest Control, Jefferson City, Mo.; Keith Duval, Southern NH Pest Control LLC, Nashua, Mass.; and Melissa M. Outhous, Richmond Professional Termite & Pest Control, Inc., Richmond, Va., entered the raffle at the Dow AgroSciences booth during NPMA’s PestWorld 2008 held in October 2008 in Washington, D.C.

Hosted by the NPMA’s Leadership Development Group (LDG) and sponsored by Dow AgroSciences, NPMA’s Academy is the premier annual event dedicated to motivating and developing the pest management industry’s progressive professionals. At NPMA’s Academy, participants gain knowledge and learn skills through interactive learning, all while networking with other industry leaders.

“Our industry’s need for professionalism and strong leaders is becoming increasingly important,” says Dave Morris, commercial leader for the Dow AgroSciences U.S. Urban Pest Management Business. “As an investment in our industry’s future through education and leadership skill development, Dow AgroSciences is serving as the primary sponsor of NPMA’s Academy, as well as the LDG. We truly believe in what the organizations aim to accomplish, and we’re pleased to provide the raffle winners with the opportunity to attend the invaluable event.”

For the past 14 years, NPMA has challenged the next generation of pest management professionals to take charge of the industry. At NPMA’s Academy 2009, motivating educational programs, incredible networking opportunities and the team-building Olympics will create the ultimate meeting experience. Some of the many issues that will be covered this year include increasing employee motivation, understanding consumer spending patterns, creating effective and cost-efficient marketing plans and navigating the economy with financial planning and budgeting techniques.
