TUCSON, Ariz. – Truly Nolen of America recently announced the addition of long-time team member Chris Maher to the company’s board of directors. The board also consists of four Nolen family members (Vickie, Scarlett, Bill and Michelle) and Truly Nolen International CEO Jose Lutz. Prior to his death in October 2022, the Board’s sixth member was longtime Director of Safety and Insurance R.W. “Bob” Hartley.
The chief purpose of the company’s Board is to safeguard the core values of team members, and Maher’s nomination is a reflection of the trust, tenure and expertise he possesses, the company said.
Maher, who also serves on the company’s executive team, will remain on the team with the title executive advisor, and will oversee building purchases and large contract reviews. In joining the board, he will be passing the torch to others from his previous role as vice president, commercial and operational logistics, where he led the company’s commercial division and national commercial team.
"To be asked to serve on the Board of Directors is a very proud moment for me,” said Maher. “I have enjoyed my journey through multiple roles within the company over the last four decades, and I am happy to use my extensive experience going forward to contribute to the company's governance and decision-making process.”
Some of Maher’s career highlights since joining the company as a salesperson in 1981 include designing quarterly pest control at Truly Nolen, which is now standard practice throughout the pest control industry, assisting with the Guinness Book of World Records-certified largest tent fumigation event at the University of Tampa in 1986, and having the company’s new Fort Myers service office dedicated to him in 2021 for his years of service and expertise throughout Southwest Florida for 40 years.
“Chris’ impact on our company, the pest control industry, and the individuals who have had the privilege of working with him is of tremendous value,” said President Scarlett Nolen. “My father knew Chris for the first 36 years of his tenure and he always enjoyed their conversations. I am excited Chris will continue to help shape our company as a Board member.”
