ORLANDO, Fla. – Truly Nolen of America, one of the nation’s largest family-owned pest control companies, introduced its “Eyes and Ears” program on Wednesday, where its technicians work in partnership with Orlando Police and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office to keep an eye on crime.
“Under this program, Truly Nolen’s pest control technicians are trained to become an extra set of eyes and ears for local police and sheriff’s offices,” said Barry Murray, vice president of marketing for Truly Nolen. “Our technicians know the neighborhoods and will be able to spot anything unusual.”
With “Eyes and Ears,” Truly Nolen technicians will report anything they believe to be suspicious to local law enforcement agencies, but will not become involved in any other way. Both Orange County Sheriff Kevin Beary and Orlando Police Chief Michael J. McCoy said they welcomed the help.
“Orange County contains more than 1,000 square miles and nearly 900,000 people. We welcome the additional eyes and ears to help keep our neighbors safe,” Beary said. “We believe this program will be a powerful tool in our public safety efforts.”
“We appreciate our friends at Truly Nolen extending their pest control efforts to crime,” McCoy said. “Truly Nolen has always been a good neighbor and we are pleased to see them taking this extra step to help all our citizens.”
Truly Nolen is also working the program in conjunction with Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach county police and sheriff’s offices.
Truly Nolen announced the program at the grand opening of its new $3 million, 14,000-square-foot training center at 2082 33rd Street in Orlando. Nicknamed “Truly U,” the mission of this new facility and its training staff is to ensure that the pest management career program is thorough, effective and aligned with the company’s commitment to service excellence. Each attendee will participate in a comprehensive, hands-on program that addresses pest and termite control techniques, including inspection, treatment and sanitation.
