TUCSON, Ariz. -
Truly Nolen Pest Control recently announced the promotion of long-time team member and current Director of Domestic Franchising Lance Washington to the company’s executive team. Washington, who becomes the 11th member of the team, will remain based out of the company’s Florida Operations Headquarters at 2082 33rd Street, 2nd Floor, Orlando and will continue to report to Matt Wild, chief financial officer and fellow executive team member.
Washington first joined the company in 1998 as a pest control technician at the Fort Myers service office. Over the next two decades, Washington became a manager at five Southwest Florida service offices (Marco Island, Naples, Bonita Springs, Lehigh Acres, and Fort Myers) and a district manager covering Southwest Florida and parts of Miami.
“Career Pathing for me was sometimes very challenging but well worth the personal investment,” said Washington. “I once told Mr. Nolen that I would be a leader in his company one day and my goal was to be part of the team that helps make the decisions to move our company forward and take care of our customers and team members.”
In September 2018, after managing the company’s Orlando branch, Washington was promoted to Director of Domestic Franchising. “Lance sets his sights high and pursues his goals with ambition and passion. Immediately upon taking the helm, he began raising the level of service and professionalism within the Division and his business acumen has helped our franchisees improve their results,” said Wild. “Lance’s leadership has created a collegial and collaborative community among our franchisees.”
Prior to joining Truly Nolen, Washington spent 17 years with PepsiCo, where he ran several different distribution locations in multiple Florida cities and eventually took over as the operations manager in Fort Myers. In his spare time, Washington is a member of the Orlando United Golf Club, and the club’s mission is to share their love of the game with people that may not have access to the sport.
“What I'm most excited about with my new role is being part of a great team that helps shape the direction of the company and having a voice that can influence decisions that will help make things better for our partners,” said Washington. “My favorite thing about working for Truly Nolen is the people I work with and the relationships I have made over the past 23 years.”
“Throughout his career, Lance has mastered instilling processes, creating ‘win-win’ scenarios, and developing the people around him,” said Scarlett Nolen, President. “I believe his wealth of operational knowledge, entrepreneurial perspective, and ability to challenge the status quo will undoubtedly elevate our Executive Team, and I am excited to have him become our 11th team member.”
PROMOTION OF EMMETT. Truly Nolen announced the promotion of Cody Emmett to Manager of the company’s East Tucson service office at 7475 East 22nd Street, Tucson.
Emmett joined the company in December 2020 and was most recently a Manager-in-Training. Prior to joining Truly Nolen, he spent seven years in the retail industry as a store manager for Nike and one year as a manager at Target in Tucson.
Some of Emmett new responsibilities will include helping the service office continue to maintain visibility with the local East Tucson community as well as instilling the company’s core values throughout his team. “I am excited about the opportunity to help team members grow in their personal and professional lives,” said Emmett. “I am also excited about the ability to help customers solve a variety of pest control problems on a daily basis.”
“Cody’s extensive experience and success in the retail industry, passion for helping others, and attention to detail made him an easy choice for his new position,” said Desi Rodriguez, Truly Nolen District Manager, Tucson. “I am looking forward to his continued success and how he helps our East Tucson team members achieve their goals in the future.”
