Truly Nolen
TUCSON, Ariz. – Truly Nolen Pest Control recently announced the promotion of Derek Ryan to field operations specialist covering Fort Myers, Lehigh Acres, Bonita Springs and Collier County, Fla., and Jack Cavender to commercial sales manager of the company’s South Florida, Treasure Coast and Southwest Florida service offices.
Ryan joined Truly Nolen in June 2022 as a pest service professional. Prior to joining the company, he began his pest control career at Hulett Environmental services and then spent a few years at TruGreen learning the lawn and ornamental side of the industry.
Some of Ryan’s new responsibilities will be to train other technicians in a variety of services as well as help team members in the field when needed.
“I am most excited about my continued growth and development along my career path, and to help train and develop other partners as well. Training and teaching are two of my passions,” said Ryan. “My favorite thing about working for Truly Nolen is our company’s culture, which is one thing that makes it stand out and an absolute pleasure to work for."
Cavender joined Truly Nolen in December 2023 as a manager-in-training at the company’s Fort Myers, Fla., service office. Prior to joining the company, he worked for 32 years in the adult beverage industry holding roles from Sales to Director of Sales and ultimately Vice President of Sales.
During that time, Cavender worked with E&J Gallo Winery, Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC), and California Tequila in a variety of leadership capacities. He earned a B.S. Degree in Economics with a minor in Finance from Florida State University.
Cavender was actually retired for about one year following his time in the adult beverage industry but ultimately decided he was missing the professional challenges and the camaraderie of team leadership, which is what led him to Truly Nolen.
“Jack has consistently brought the same drive, discipline, and leadership that defined his previous career to our team,” said Verne Keller, Florida commercial division manager. “His commitment to excellence, proven relationship-building skills, and supporting team growth made him the perfect choice to lead our commercial sales efforts in South Florida, the Treasure Coast, and Southwest Florida.”
