NAPLES, Fla. — Truly Nolen, whose pest control company is famous for its classic car advertising campaign, was honored by International College on Thursday as its 2007 Humanitarian of the Year.
“We look for people who not only have been successful in their own right, but have contributed to the community in so many other facets of their lives,” said Joe Turner, a spokesman for the college. “Truly is an adventurer, an entrepreneur, a father, and he’s also a person who has overcome many obstacles with a can-do attitude.”
Nolen arrived at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort in North Naples in a mouse-mobile — a bright yellow Volkswagen beetle stretch-limo with black ears and a black tail. The limo was escorted by six smaller mouse-mobile beetles.
