TUCSON, Ariz. – Truly Nolen announces the sponsorship of Tony Gustin’s Creepy Crawly Insect Zoo, a popular interactive, touring insect exhibit for children.

Gustin, whose family owns Milwaukee-based Unico Spray Products, launched the Creepy Crawly Insect Zoo in 1995 and throughout the years he has continually refined his presentations and exhibits (see Business Takes Shape). A colorful speaker, Gustin often uses humor to entertain and educate students about insects. The centerpiece of the exhibit is — of course — the insects. Children are given the opportunity to handle bugs such as millipedes, walking sticks, beetles, cockroaches and praying mantids. They also get to interact with Gustin during Q&A sessions

“Tony is a dynamic and animated speaker who kids really respond to,” said Scott Nolen, president of Truly Nolen of America. “At Truly Nolen, we believe in education and the more people know about bugs, the more they will value our services. I think the services (pest control companies) provide are undervalued by society. We have 100 offices throughout the world, so I’ve seen first-hand the tremendous disparity in quality of life between those places that do and don’t have pest control services.”

Gustin’s Creepy Crawly Insect Zoo gives 75 live shows per year at schools and another 50 at libraries. The number of students who have seen has presentation averages about 40,000 per year. The majority of Gustin’s presentations are in his hometown region (Greater Milwaukee) and in his current city of residence – Tucson, Ariz, although he also has spoken at schools in Nevada. With the addition of the Truly Nolen sponsorship, the tour will be expanding to a network of schools in Florida.
