NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. — A highlight of this last week’s New Jersey Pest Management Association’s 68th annual Clinic, Trade Show & Clambake was the annual the 17th annual “Running of the Roaches,” NJPMA’s annual Madagascar hissing cockroach race to determine political winners/losers.
For this year’s contest, cartoon cutouts of GOP presidential candidates Donald Trump, Chris Christie and Jeb Bush were attached to the roaches, and the roach representing Trump was the winner. The race was held outside Rutgers University's Hickman Hall.
Historically, the race has been 84 percent accurate in determining political winners.
“Running of the Roaches brings a bit of fun and levity to a group of professionals that are trained and dedicated to their industry,” said NJPMA Executive Director Len Douglen.
