Slater joined Turner Pest Control in September of 2004 as the chief financial officer and took responsibility for driving the performance of all the company’s internal operations. Prior to joining Turner, Slater served as CFO for various organizations where he spent his 18-year career in a range of general management, operations and financial positions.
Ben T. Franklin, Turner’s Chairman, said that the Turner Board of Directors unanimously selected Slater based on his track record of being a results-oriented individual as well as his strong executive and personal qualities.
"Mark came to our attention because of his strong execution skills. In his first year with Turner he quickly proved his ability to understand the industry and lead our internal operations teams. As we got to know Mark, we were impressed by his emphasis on developing internal talent, his understanding of the role of culture in a company's success and his personal integrity. Additionally, his straightforward style has won the respect of employees, customers and investors," Franklin said.
Slater said, "Turner is one of the region’s best pest control companies, with a proud history of excellent customer service and a proven track record in delivering value to our customers. It's a great honor to serve as president and have the continued opportunity to build on its track record of success."
Turner has experienced rapid growth in recent years and now has branches in Port St. Lucie, Fla, and St. Marys, Ga. In 2004, Turner was ranked 62nd on the PCT Top 100.
