TyraTech Names Kim Watson Senior Director Business Development

Watson will identify new commercial development partnerships and market opportunities to expand TyraTech’s traction in the markets it serves.

MELBOURNE, Fla.- TyraTech announced the appointment of Kim Watson as Senior Director Business Development. Watson will identify new commercial development partnerships and market opportunities to expand TyraTech’s traction in the international institutional, agricultural, consumer, and animal and public health markets. In the newly created position, Watson will report to Stephen Briggs, vice president, Global Markets.

Watson has more than 20 years of experience in discovering, developing and commercializing new technologies in the agricultural chemical industry. Prior to joining TyraTech, Watson served as director of product acquisitions and licensing at FMC Corporation, a worldwide, diversified chemical company headquartered in Philadelphia. While at FMC, he was responsible for driving new business growth through acquisitions or licensing and secured exclusive access to several platform technologies. He also spent several years working with Bayer Australia, where he was a technical development officer and responsible for the marketing and distribution of proprietary agricultural chemicals. Watson is an active member in industry associations, including the Licensing Executives Society, and holds 18 technology patents of his own.

Briggs added, “Our company has seen a material increase in commercial and development capability with these key hires, which is complementing our already strong research and technology development resources.” The addition of Watson complements other recent commercial market team additions at TyraTech which have included Dr. Peter Porpiglia, joining TyraTech from Kumiai Chemical as Sr. Director Product Development, and William Baxter, who moved from BASF as Sr. Director Market Development.
