Univar Announces Several Promotions, New Hires

AUSTIN, Texas – Univar USA announces the following promotions: Dean Hill to director – Specialty Markets; Tony Smith to director – Purchasing and Operations; Jim Sparks to district manager for Univar's Central District; Mark Nelson to sales manager for the Central District; and Ron Wyandt to outside sales representative for the Pacific District. New hires include Cam Renn as outside sales representative for the Northeast District and Jason Hart as outside sales representative for the Southeast District.

Hill has been with Univar for 30 years, spending the last 11 as district manager of Univar's Central District. In this new role, Hill will be responsible for Univar's numerous specialty business divisions. He will continue to office out of the Salt Lake City, Utah branch.

Smith is a 20 year veteran of Univar and has held a variety of positions including Sales Representative, Sales Manager, District Manager, and most recently, Manager of the MPU group. In his new position, he will oversee the best practices of both Univar's purchasing and operational teams. Smith is based out of Houston, Texas.
   
Sparks has been with Univar for four years, starting as an outside sales representative in Portland, Ore. Less than a year later, he was promoted to sales manager of Univar's Pacific District, and has been sales manager of Univar's Central District for the past year. Prior to joining Univar, Sparks was a PMP for 12 years. He will continue to be based out of the Univar Salt Lake City branch.

Nelson brings over 20 years of sales experience to his new position as well as being a sales growth leader for the Central District since joining the Univar team four years ago as an outside sales representative. He will continue to office out of the company's Salt Lake City branch.

Wyandt was most recently based in Univar's Sacramento office as an inside sales representative with over two years of professional sales experience. He previously worked as the purchasing agent for a large food processing company. Wyandt will be based in the Sacramento Valley of Northern California and will report to the Univar office in West Sacramento.
 
Renn is a Board Certified Entomologist and comes to Univar with over 11 years of experience in the pest management industry. As an outside sales representative, he will be responsible for covering Central and Southwest Ohio and Eastern Kentucky and will based out of Univar's Cincinnati location.
   
Hart comes to Univar with over eight years of professional sales experience, including more than three years calling on pest management professionals in Louisiana, Texas and Mississippi. He most recently was with Verdicon, where he was employed as a sales location manager. Hart will be responsible for covering North and Central Alabama and will office out of the Birmingham location.
