AUSTIN, Texas – Univar Professional Products & Services (PP&S) announced that Benjamin Gomez, former Director General of Mexico, has been appointed Director for Latin America effective May 1.
Gomez joined Univar in 1996 when the company acquired his Mexico-based pest control distribution company, ECONTROL. Gomez has served as Director General of Mexico and will now have responsibility for export efforts in the Caribbean and distribution expansion into South America. Gomez earned his degree in Agronomy from the Monterrey Institute of Technology (ITESM), and two postgraduate degrees, one in Social Responsibility from USEM Mexico, and the other in Upper Management from IPADE Business School. Gomez is actively involved in several national and international pest control associations, was the founder of Pest Control Technology Mexico magazine, and has authored articles on IPM and pest management. Gomez will continue to reside in Mexico City.
