University of Florida’s Wayne Walker Earns A.C.E. Certification

Walker, senior pest control technician, University of Florida Department of Housing & Residence Education, earned Associate Certified Entomologist status from the Entomological Society of America.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Wayne Walker, senior pest control technician at the University of Florida Department of Housing & Residence Education, recently earned Associate Certified Entomologist (A.C.E.) status from the Entomological Society of America. This certification is awarded through a competency-based study program including a rigorous certification exam. Only about100 individuals have currently earned the ACE designation.

Eligible applicants to the certification program must have a current pesticide applicator license and a minimum of seven years of verifiable pest management experience. Those certified as an Associate Certified Entomologist also are required to uphold the ACE Code of Ethics.

Walker has more than 14 years experience in pest control – including seven years at UF and more than seven years with Orkin Pest Control.
