SANTA FE SPRINGS, CA – Chuck Synold and Judy Westhoff of Target Specialty Products presented $1,000 to the Mayo Foundation on behalf of the United Producers, Formulators & Distributors Association (UPFDA). Synold won the money at UPFDA’s Texas Hold’Em Tournament in April. The fundraiser was held in conjunction with UPFDA’s Spring Conference held in Tucson, Arizona.

Tournament rules stipulated the winner donate the pot to a favorite charity. Synold, a self-proclaimed poker novice, chose the Mayo Foundation for Breast Cancer Research in Scottsdale, Arizona.

“It is an extreme pleasure to direct the funds to the Mayo Foundation,” explained Synold. “The Mayo Clinic’s Scottsdale facility treated Judy Westhoff, one of our Tempe team members, in January. The competent and compassionate care she received was remarkable. The real pay-off is being able to direct the proceeds to the foundation.”

The Mayo Foundation conducts basic science as well as clinical research.
