Administrative Hearings into Utah Poisoning Deaths Delayed

SALT LAKE CITY - The administrative hearings for the charged parties in the poisoning deaths of Rachel and Rebecca Toone have been delayed.

The Utah Department of Agriculture and Food hearings were scheduled for June 1, 2 and 3, 2010.
 
Bugman, Pest and Lawn,, and its former contractor Coleman Nocks  are connected with the deaths of the Toone sisters.

4-year-old Rebecca Toone and her sister, 15-month-old Rachel Toone died after becoming ill at their family's home in Layton in early February.

A medical examiner's report found that the Toone sisters "...had elevated phosphorous levels and lung damage consistent with inhaling a harmful substance."

In other news related to this case, the Salt Lake Tribune reports that those allege misuses are among more than 3,500 instances when the Bountiful company and its employees broke pesticide laws between April 2009 and February, according to violation letters issued by the state pesticide office. In some cases, violations pertained to poor record keeping, but many represented misuse of deadly pesticides.
