VANCOUVER — Mounting refuse in Vancouver has become a putrid buffet for an explosion of vermin that experts say could last well beyond the now nine-week-old civic strike. Pest control companies agreed yesterday that mice and rat calls are up 50 per cent since the strike began, and the fruit fly population has more than doubled.
