The effectiveness of this trap is emphasized by the two passive one-way doors that only allow sparrows to move in one direction, into the trap. There are two one-way doors, one at the opening of each chamber. The entry chamber, or “parlor,” should be heavily baited with seed and pieces of bread for eye appeal. Separating the entry chamber from the second chamber (or holding chamber) is an interior funnel that entices the birds to progress into the holding chamber where adequate food and water is provided. Once in this holding chamber the birds will no longer be able to enter the parlor. Water is contained within two water bottles (which are provided), and these are separately secured to the inside of the holding chamber. In the back of the holding chamber there is a cleanout door for easy removal of the captured birds. The support cables and quick-release carabiner that come with the trap allows this trap to be quickly hung via any wire or rope loop. The solid bottom obscures the contents of the trap when observing it from below, and insures that no debris will fall from the trap.
