SCARBOROUGH, Ontario — At its annual corporate banquet in January, Turf Holdings honored several outstanding U.S. franchises with Weedy Awards. The awards recognize exceptional service in a variety of areas including customer service, efficiency and innovation.
The 2007 Weedy Awards for American franchises were:

Bloomington, Ill.
Judy Praskavich of Lake County, Ohio, Weed Man received the Desi Award. This honor is in recognition of exemplary support services in a Weed Man franchise.
Weed Man of Columbus, Ohio, won the Green and Yellow Award. This award is for enthusiastically embracing the Weed Man business.
Turf Holdings CEO Roger Mongeon received the Phil Cowan Innovation Award. This honor is given to one person who has contributed many ideas that have been successfully implemented within the franchise system.
Service awards were given to franchises that have been successfully operating for five and ten years. Only one U.S. franchise — in Denver — has been open for ten years.
