SCARBOROUGH, Ontario, Canada - The newest franchise of Weed Man has opened its doors in Illinois. Brandon Burns, a 15-year golf course grounds veteran, purchased the Weed Man territory covering the northwest suburbs of Chicago.
“Golf course professionals are a perfect fit for Weed Man,” said Turf Holdings, COO Jennifer Lemcke. “They have tremendous experience dealing with the issues Weed Man residential customers face on a smaller scale.”
To add to his lawn care expertise as well as to learn Weed Man’s administrative systems, Burns recently completed a twelve-day training course at Turf Holdings’ Canadian headquarters in Scarborough, which is a suburb of Toronto.
“The training covered everything from fertilization to training on the company’s new proprietary software,” commented Burns. “This training was a big selling point for me when I was looking to buy a franchise.”
Turf Holdings, Inc. started selling United States Weed Man dealerships through a sub-franchise system in 1996. The territories were established based on population. There are 13 sub-franchisors and 114 operating licenses covering 250 Weed Man territories in the United States.
