Whitmire-Micro Gen Introduces Vector Eclipse Flying Insect Trap

ST. LOUIS, Mo.  – For PMPs with restaurant accounts, the problem is all too familiar. Restaurants won’t put flying insect traps where they can do the most good because they look like, well, bug lights.

Whitmire Micro-Gen has addressed this challenge with the introduction of the Vector Eclipse, the latest member of its Vector family of fly control products. To restaurateurs and their customers, the Vector Eclipse looks like an attractive wall sconce. Its handsome, contemporary design is right at home in any front-of-house restaurant setting.

“We knew going in we had to design something restaurant owners wouldn’t want to hide in a corner,” said Dave Poling, business director, Residential Markets at Whitmire Micro-Gen. “The new design had to be something the restaurant owners would be willing to incorporate into their décor, for more effective control.”

The Vector Eclipse features a sleek brushed aluminum cover and a low-energy LED accent light that further disguise its true purpose. So instead of hiding the Vector Eclipse, restaurants can use multiple units as accent lighting fixtures, giving them better catch. The aluminum covers can even be customized to better match restaurant décor.

Each unit houses two 15-watt UV bulbs that produce 30 powerful watts of insect-attracting UV light. The Vector Light Blades actually channel light forward, for increased range and efficacy. Its hinged cover makes servicing quick and easy. And the Vector Eclipse uses Vector universal glueboards — no need to stock an additional SKU on service vehicles. “At the end of the day, profitable pest management comes down to two things,” Poling said, “satisfied accounts and the ability to service them quickly and efficiently. We designed the new Vector Eclipse to deliver both.”
