The William Blair/PCO M&A Specialists total U.S. Pest Index increased 16.8% year-over-year in January 2022. This is a slight acceleration from December (up 16.4%).
On a sequential basis (from December 2021 to January 2022), the index increased 0.7%. A modest sequential uptick is typical for the month of January. The average growth rate in 2021 (up 14%) was well above the average growth observed in 2020 (up 5%) due to accelerations in residential services (both initial services and recurring revenue) and a recovering commercial market.
