BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Mosqitter, a women-led Ukrainian engineering company with R&D office in Ukraine and headquarter in the U.S., has unveiled Mosqitter Grand 3.0, a software-driven, pesticide-free mosquito trap.
Mosqitter Grand 3.0 is a solid, stainless steel trap measuring 53.5 inches by 19.3 inches by 19.3 inches that has been designed for service durability.
Engineers from Mosqitter, working in collaboration with entomologists, identified the main four natural components that mosquitoes are mainly attracted to: CO2 from breathing; heat signatures from our bodies; UV light at a specific wavelength that mammals emit; and human scent.
Mosqitter Grand 3.0 uses all four of those components to mimic a “human being,” controlling the frequency and intensity of emission of those luring emissions via proprietary software. A customer can customize modes, timing options, and environmental settings via mobile application to offer the most suitable solution based on the mosquito population.
According to the manufacturer, the effects become “evident right from the first day of use. Approximately two to three weeks later, the mosquitoes' reproductive cycle will be disrupted, leading to a mosquito-free environment. The device doesn't directly eliminate the mosquitoes; instead, it detains them within a net, causing them to eventually perish due to starvation or desiccation.”
Mosqitter Grand 3.0 has been designed to protect expansive outdoor spaces, covering an area for up to two acres, making it well-suited for outdoor spaces such as patios, decks, and terraces, the company reports.
Currently, Mosqitter has established a business-to-consumer presence in the U.S., engaging directly with customers. Furthermore, the company has strategically partnered with local distributors to enhance the service and maintenance components of their solution. In addition, Mosqitter is actively in discussions with select pest control solutions to explore potential business-to-business opportunities, the company reports.
