The Wisconsin Pest Control Association announced its first scholarship for children and spouses of WPCA members. The first annual scholarship award will be in the amount of $500.
Beginning in the spring of 2011, WPCA will begin accepting nominations and applications for the newly-created scholarship award. The scholarship will be presented to one student who will be attending an accredited college, university, trade school or institute of higher learning.
“The WPCA’s board of directors agreed that not only will a scholarship benefit members, it reflects our support for the education of both them and their families,” said association vice president, Keith Baricovich. “We’re thrilled to be able to advance the future of the industry in this way.”
The Wisconsin Pest Control Association Leadership Scholarship is open to qualified nominees with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Nominations, applications, and short, 500-word essays for applicants must be submitted by April 30, 2011. Applications and essays will bereviewed and judged by scholarship committee members Keith Baricovich, Up North Services, and Kyle Stiemsma, Terminator Pest Control. The award will be distributed in fall,
2011.
