TACOMA, Wash. – The Washington State Commission on Integrated Pest Management's annual Specialty Crop Tour made a significant stop at Sprague's Tacoma office this year. The event, which highlights the state's diverse crop types and pest challenges, brought together state, federal and local leaders for a firsthand look at how Sprague works to protect the public and food supply chain.

Ashley Roden, a Board Certified Entomologist with Sprague, provided insights into the company's commercial account management practices. Samantha Malone, executive director of the Washington State Pest Management Association (WSPMA), emphasized the association's role in supporting member companies with the latest trends and science in pest control. Billy Olesen, ACE, addressed the importance of residential pest control and the impact of policy decisions on the industry and communities.

Rodent and bedbug control emerged as key topics of discussion during the tour, underscoring the ongoing challenges faced by the pest management industry. This year's Specialty Crop Tour was a valuable opportunity to showcase the vital role that pest management plays in protecting Washington State's agricultural industry and public health.
