OLYMPIA, Wash. - On June 3, the Washington State Pest Management Association (WSPMA) held its first ever 5K, in Olympia, Wash., to support the development of women in pest management in Washington state.
The event was held in the same location as the first ever Women’s Olympic Marathon trials (1984) and while the Washington PWIPM Chapter event wasn’t a marathon, it started and ended in the same location. And all finishers were even awarded a cookie finishers medal!
“It was an exciting event. Huge thanks to Samantha Malone for helping to organize everything and all the men and women who made this event successful,” said Billy Oleson, immediate past president of the Washington State Pest Management Association.
