ORLANDO, Fla. —Michael Schmidt, president of Orlando-based Capital Risk Underwriters (CRU) has announced the addition of Allen Fugler as director of risk management. In his new role, Fugler will work with CRU’s insured pest management professionals on regulatory compliance, employee training, file documentation and risk mitigation. He will also manage external company communications with pest management clients and insurance agents.
“We’re excited to have Allen join our team,” Schmidt said. “He brings a deep knowledge in many sectors of the pest profession and the risks of claims and lawsuits specific to it. Allen has proven he can communicate effectively with both insured clients and insurance agents.”
Fugler’s 23-year career in pest management began in 1991 as the executive director of the Louisiana Pest Management Association; he then spent 10 years as the vice president of marketing for a pest management insurance program. Fugler was named executive vice president of the Florida Pest Management Association in 2007 and has remained a frequent contributor to national trade publications and speaker at local, state and national pest management meetings. He recently announced he will be resigning from that position.
