Texas A&M’s Mike Merchant and "Team Termidor," a group assembled by BASF’s Mike Toce — were among the participants in the recent Sam's Club MS 150 bicycle ride to raise money for research efforts to fight multiple sclerosis.

Merchant and wife Heather finished the two-day, 159 mile ride across the rolling prairie north of Dallas and Fort Worth. On his blog, Insects in the City, Merchant wrote, “Thanks to all of you who supported me with donations to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. We came away with sore legs and shoulders, good memories, a great sense of accomplishment and a promise to ourselves to avoid our bicycle saddles for a few weeks. We also made a few new friends, and ran into some old ones.”
Also participating was "Team Termidor", a team put together by Mike Toce, regional sales manager for BASF, Southlake, Texas. Industry professionals that were part of Team Termidor included: Mike Cohn and Tom Rainer — Arrow Pest Control; Bobby Jenkins, Matt Burns and Brian Kelley — ABC Pest & Lawn, Austin, Texas; Dennis Jenkins — ABC Pest & Lawn, Lewisville, Texas; and Fred Webb and Mike Toce — BASF.
Merchant noted on his blog, “It's refreshing to know that you have pest control colleagues that share your quirkiness. Quirky in the sense they're willing to squeeze into tight shorts, put on funny helmets and pedal like mad for five hours for fun and a worthy cause.”
