Cannibalism: a worker eats another worker alive. Auburn University researcher Dr. Xing Ping Hu took this video of termite cannibalism, a common behavior in both field and lab colonies, especially when food source is low or poor. This video was recorded when Dr. Hu was doing starvation-study of this termite, R. flavipes, in 2006.
